About StabilityCore

From sound engineering to seismic isolation — the same physics, a different frequency.

The Origin

My name is Jonathan Swanson, and I've spent years doing something most people have never thought about — decoupling sound from buildings. As a sound engineer, I design isolation systems that stop vibrations from traveling through walls, floors, and ceilings. Springs, dampers, mass — the physics of keeping one thing from shaking another.

One day it hit me: earthquake isolation is the exact same problem. Same math. Same physics. Just a different frequency. I thought — if I can stop a bass note from rattling a ceiling, why can't the same principle stop an earthquake from rattling a building?

That question became StabilityCore.

The Same Physics, Different Scale

Acoustic isolation and seismic isolation are both governed by mass-spring-damper dynamics. Sound engineers decouple rooms at 20–20,000 Hz. Earthquake engineers decouple buildings at 0.05–10 Hz. The math is identical — F = ma, resonance avoidance, damping ratios, impedance matching. The insight was recognizing that active PID control, which works brilliantly for audio systems, could be applied to structural isolation at seismic frequencies.

Interdisciplinary inventor and full stack engineer with a science foundation in chemistry, physics, and thermodynamics from Seattle Pacific University. Designed and built the StabilityCore prototype from concept through firmware — including PID control algorithms, IMU sensor fusion, and procedural earthquake waveform generation. Writes production code in C++, Java, and Python, with large-scale software projects developed in VS Code. Manages cloud server infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including VM provisioning, networking, and deployment pipelines. Professional background in sound engineering with hands-on experience in acoustic decoupling and vibration isolation for building structures — the same mass-spring-damper physics that underlies seismic isolation. EPA Section 608 certified and R-410A certified HVAC/R technician — directly applicable to StabilityCore's refrigerant-based thermal management systems. A natural troubleshooter who diagnoses and solves complex hardware and software problems from embedded firmware to server architecture. Two-time featured inventor at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) science fairs. Authored a 33-claim provisional patent covering the complete technology stack from bedrock isolation to seismic energy harvesting.

Why I'm Building This

The Science Foundation

A chemistry degree from Seattle Pacific University built the analytical framework — understanding molecular forces, thermodynamics, and energy transfer at a fundamental level. Pre-med coursework in physics, calculus, and thermodynamics provided the engineering math. These aren't just academic credentials — they're the lens through which I see force, energy, and motion in every system.

Sound Engineering

Years of professional sound isolation work — designing mass-spring-damper systems that decouple rooms from structure-borne vibration. This is the exact same physics as seismic isolation, at audio frequencies. The practical experience of tuning real physical systems, measuring real results, and iterating until the physics works — that's what makes StabilityCore possible.

Full Stack Software Engineering

Production code in C++, Java, and Python. Large-scale software projects developed in VS Code. From embedded firmware to web servers to cloud infrastructure — comfortable at every layer of the stack. A natural troubleshooter who diagnoses complex problems across hardware and software.

Embedded Systems & Cloud Architecture

Arduino and ESP32 firmware development — PID controllers, IMU sensor fusion, actuator management, real-time dashboards. Manages Google Cloud Platform server infrastructure including VM provisioning, networking, and deployment. The same engineering discipline applies from microcontrollers to cloud servers.

The Inventor's Track Record

Two-time featured inventor at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) science fairs, with 5,000+ attendees. StabilityCore's V3 pendulum prototype is slated for its next OMSI debut — a ping pong ball that doesn't move during a simulated earthquake.

Global Vision

StabilityCore's technology addresses a global problem. Three international markets offer immediate strategic opportunities:

Innovation Capital

United Arab Emirates

Dubai and Abu Dhabi don't just accept futuristic architecture — they demand it. Sovereign wealth funds can finance first-of-kind projects. A flagship building would generate global attention.

Scale & Urgency

China

The 2008 Sichuan earthquake killed 70,000 and rewrote the building code. China builds entire new cities from scratch — greenfield construction where isolation can be designed from day one.

Validation & Credibility

Japan

The world's most sophisticated earthquake engineering market. If Japan adopts the technology, it validates globally. Japanese engineering approval is the gold standard.

Form Follows Physics

Buildings designed around isolation physics will look different from conventional structures. In markets that embrace bold architecture, the aesthetic is a feature, not a compromise. Every major structural leap looked "impossible" before it became standard: the Eiffel Tower (1889), suspension bridges, the Space Needle (1962). This is the next one.
